HBN FOUNDATION DISGNATED CHARITIES FOR 2013

It is a pleasure for the the HBN Foundation to announce its plans to support two new 501(c)(3) charities for 2013, the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) and the Navy Safe Harbor Foundation. Both non-profit organizations are dedicated to supporting the recovery of seriously wounded service members and their families by assisting them with resources not currently provided by government or community resources.

Wounded Warrior Project

Wounded Warrior Project proivdes assistance to thousands of military servicemen and women who have been injured in recent military conflicts. From physical wounds to invisible wounds of war including combat related stress, depression as well as traumatic brain injuries, WWP's purpose is to enlist the public's help in providing aid to service members and their families. Navy Safe Harbor Foundation

A smaller non-profit charity, Navy Safe Harbor Foundation supports wounded, injured and seriously ill Navy sailors, Coast Guardsmen and their families. Safe Harbor provides a wide variety of support from flying family members to Bethesda and other hospitals, to helping with making a residence handicapped accessible. Essentially, the Safe Harbor Foundation funds needs that the Navy and government are not allowed to fund. www.navysafeharborfoundation.org

Association of the United States Navy

RADM Casey Coane USN (Ret.) is executive director of the Association of the United States Navy, a 501(c)(19) War Veterans Organization headquartered in Washington, DC. ADM Coane has been assisting the Hospitality Business Network Foundation in identifying both active and veteran military personnel residing in the metro Atlanta area and the state of Georgia that are qualified to receive assistance from the WWP and Safe Harbor Programs. www.ausn.org
