Mike Oliver Named President of HBN Foundation

ATLANTA – March 15, 2025  – The Hospitality Business Network Foundation (HBN) is proud to announce the appointment of Mike Oliver as its new CEO & President. A longstanding and dedicated member of HBN, Oliver brings a deep passion for the organization’s mission and a vision to expand its influence within the hospitality industry.

“Stepping into this role is truly an honor,” said Oliver. “Over the years, I have built meaningful friendships within this community, and I deeply value the relationships that make HBN such a special organization. I look forward to bringing fresh ideas and energy to our mission while staying true to the values that have defined HBN from the beginning.”

Oliver follows in the footsteps of HBN’s co-founder, W.B. Baldwin and the late Clisby Clark, whose charismatic leadership helped shape the organization. “Though I never had the chance to meet Clisby, his influence is undeniable. I’ve even found myself using some of his famous ‘Clisby-isms’ in everyday conversation,” Oliver added.

The new leadership team has been working closely with HBN Chairman W.B. Baldwin, Board Chairman Mark Zimmerman, and the strategic marketing team at communications 21, led by Sharon Goldmacher and account manager Emma Smith. Their collective efforts have resulted in a revitalization of HBN’s infrastructure, messaging and events, with a particular focus on re-engaging with the hospitality industry and expanding membership into new industries.

“HBN has always been about relationships, and I can’t think of anyone better suited to lead the next chapter than Mike Oliver,” said W.B. Baldwin. “His passion, dedication and vision will undoubtedly strengthen our community and grow our impact.”

As part of the planning, HBN Foundation has launched a new website that will offer fresh content, member testimonials, event details, and a streamlined registration system for membership, renewals and donations. Additionally, it will provide a dedicated portal for HBN’s annual golf tournament, featuring early sign-ups, sponsorship opportunities and special offers.

“The future of HBN is bright,” said Mike Oliver. “I have no doubt that the organization will continue to thrive and re-establish itself as one of Atlanta’s premier networking groups.”

The first major event under will be Cocktails & Conversations, hosted by James Magazine, where members and friends can gather to celebrate the hospitality industry and vote for their favorite Atlanta venues.
